About the Role

  • Prepare and review complex individual, partnership, corporate, estate, trust, and gift tax returns

  • Perform quarterly and/or monthly review of clients’ financial statements

  • Perform tax and accounting research with research tools and communicate/formalize said research for client understanding

  • Obtain significant knowledge of industry-leading and up-and-coming software systems and utilize those to better service clients’ needs

  • Manage and build strong client relationships/rapport, including managing engagements including tax preparation, advisory, and small-to-medium size business consulting

  • Draft and review responses to tax notices from various federal and state agencies

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills

  • CPA License, or path to obtain licensure in CT (if licensed in other states, it is not too difficult to obtain a reciprocal license in CT)

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting

  • 3-5+ years of experience in a public accounting firm

  • Knowledge of latest software – not limited to accounting and/or tax software; or ability to pick up on useful features in software foreign to you

  • Experience with UltraTax CS, QuickBooks Online and Desktop, Microsoft 365 apps (adept Excel skills preferred), G Suite apps
